Swarovski Collective SS13 Opens
Applications for its Spring/Summer 2013 sponsorship programme by Luxury crystal company, Swarovski has been announced open to both established and emerging designers.
The programme, which was created more than a decade ago after a special collaboration with designer Alexander McQueen, is open to designers from all four international fashion weeks, London, New York, Milan and Paris, and the initiative invites the designers to show how they plan on integrating Swarovski Elements into their forthcoming collections.
The list of designers who are enlisted in the list include Rodarte, Jason Wu, Giles, Erdem and Mary Katrantzou. They showcased their collections both in London and in New York. Alums of the Collective from previous years include Alexander Wang, Proenza Schouler, Christopher Kane, Viktor & Rolf, Jean Paul Gaultier, Philip Treacy, and Givenchy.
Applications are due on May 25 and designers need to include a spring/summer 2013 business plan as well as evidence of showing at one of the four aforementioned fashion weeks.
Goa gets Malini Ramani lifestyle store
Malini Ramani, the designer who debuted at the first ever India Fashion Week in 2000 has launched her new boutique at Sangolda, Chogm Road, Porvorim, Goa. The designer already has a store in Goa at Calangute. She said that it was her friend, Lyndon’s idea. After people it is the turn of Goan homes and hotels to get the designer’s touch as her new store named ‘Dreamscape‘ will house collection designed by her and which she would use herself.
The collection varies from paintings, Buddha and elephant statues to wall hangings, mirrors, designer furniture and various other knickknacks. The store will also have loungewear and kimonos for sale which has been personally selected by the designer. The showroom will not just have collections displayed but will also be used as an art gallery which will be basically to promote young and upcoming artists. With the start of the season, they even plan on having a small cafe in the backyard and organising small events now and then.
Victoria’s Secret launch ‘Most Comfortable Push-up Bra Till Date’ and ‘Love is Heavenly’ Perfume
When it comes to comfort there is just no compromising with Victoria’s Secret. The brand which is known for coming up with innovative lingerie ideas has proved it again by launching most comfortable push up bra till date. The campaign entitled “Angels in Love” features blonde Angels Erin Heatheron, Lindsay Ellingson and Elyse Taylor in a dreamy summer sequence. The angels were by photographer Michael Bay known for his Transformer movies in Miami.
It was a double dose this time as Victoria’s Secret also launched a perfume with the lingerie brand, namely “Love Is Heavenly.” The colour ranges available do look heavenly. While describing the product, Body Care said that it is a fascinating combination of scents that perfectly captures the essence of that once-in-a-lifetime moment when one realises that she irremediably in love. Alluring and fresh, the new Victoria’s Secret fragrance will make every girl feel beautiful and sensual. The perfume is an amazing blend of great-smelling and super-delicious aromas.
